Dhikr is a small, non-commercial app that helps you remember Allah through the day. It is run privately by its developer and is in active development. For any question about your data, or to make a privacy request, use the contact form at the bottom of this page.

• Account details: your email address, your name, and a password (stored only as a secure bcrypt hash; we never see or store your actual password).

• Your practice data: the dhikr you add and your daily counts and progress, so the app can sync across your devices.

• Optional audio (website only): if you upload custom audio for a dhikr, that file is stored on our server. Recordings may contain your voice, so we treat them as personal data.

• Feedback: if you send feedback, we store your message, the page or screen you were on, your browser or device type, and an email address if you choose to give one. The IP address of the request is used briefly to limit spam and is not stored.

• Anonymous usage statistics (website only): we count page visits with our own first-party analytics: the page visited, the site that referred you, an approximate country (from Cloudflare, derived from your IP and then discarded), and how long the visit lasted. It uses no cookies, stores no raw IP address, does not follow you across sites or days, and builds no profile of you. The iPhone, Android and desktop apps send no analytics.

Voice counting uses your microphone only while you have it switched on. The app measures how loud the sound is to detect each repetition; it does not recognise or transcribe words. The sound is processed on your device and is never uploaded to our servers.

You can refuse or withdraw microphone permission at any time in your device or browser settings. Everything else in the app keeps working.

The audio loop reads dhikr aloud using the speech feature built into your device or browser. Some browsers use an online voice service for this, under the browser maker’s own privacy policy; only the dhikr text is spoken.

To keep you signed in, the app stores a login token on your device (in the app’s own storage, or your browser’s local storage on the web), along with small preferences such as your language, volume, and hold-to-repeat setting. These are essential and are not used for tracking.

We use no advertising or tracking cookies, and the apps contain no advertising or third-party tracking code.

We process account and practice data to provide the service you asked for (performance of a contract). We process feedback and anonymous website statistics on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping the app working, secure, and improving, kept to the minimum needed.

Your data is stored on a server we manage, hosted by Hetzner in Germany (European Union). Traffic to the website and the app’s server passes through Cloudflare, which protects the service and briefly processes connection data such as IP addresses. These providers act only on our instructions.

If you install the app from the App Store or Google Play, Apple or Google handle the download under their own privacy policies.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers, data brokers or third-party trackers. Access is limited to what is needed to operate the service.

We keep your account and practice data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your account, dhikr, sessions, counts, and uploaded audio are permanently removed, and any feedback you sent is kept without being linked to you.

Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR or Turkey’s KVKK), you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

You can delete everything yourself at any time: Settings → Delete account, in the app or on the website. Step-by-step instructions, including what to do if you cannot sign in, are at rememberdhikr.com/delete-account. For any other request, contact us using the form below and we will respond.

The app is not directed at children below the age of digital consent in their country, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will remove it.

We may update this policy as the app develops. When we make meaningful changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
